We started the Lil' Ledy brand 5 years ago completely unaware of where it would take us. And what a ride it was!
It all started as a set of encouraging personal messages our creative director wanted to share with her daughter Leda (hence the brand name Lil'Ledy), to let her know that she doesn't need to live up to anybody else's expectation but her own, to feel free to defy laws of society and go her own way. It's all about taking on the right attitude, accepting yourself for who you are, with all your strengths and little flaws. Gradually, not knowing the exact moment, a personal note grew into a brand.
The core message of the brand "Not perfect , just special." was speaking to so many around us that we decided to bring it to a wider audience.
That's how this breathtaking journey started: unplanned, uncharted and unbelievably exciting.
The road we travelled the next 5 years was challenging, curvy and bumpy, again with some unexpected twists and turns. As we call it – the unpredictable beauty of life. We climbed up some pretty steep hills just to find out that we are on the wrong hill (but we did get to see some amazing sun sets), we drove into some extreme curves, sometimes barely managing to stay on the road, sometimes landing into the dirt. Sometimes the road took us to the point where giving up became an alluring option.
But we never did give up : ) We kept on pushing and walking for we had a clear goal in sight - to plant some positivity into the world.
We evolved, we changed – we grew – in every possible way – as a team, as a company, as a brand, as humans, ... We learnt a lot along the way, outgrew old forms and shapes.
All this lead up to this moment where we can announce that the Lil'Ledy brand grew up into the Ledylo brand.
Changing Names - Staying The Same
Staying close to the heart. :)
We are changing the brand name from Lil'Ledy into Ledylo, but we stay the same in our core beliefs and ideas. We even stay close to home with the new brand name since it's rooted in the names of the daughter and son of our head of creatives – Leda and Lorenz.
What did we learn along the way that made us change the brand name? Well, one thing we were confronted over and over again on the market, as well in life, was the fact that men need the same support and encouraging messages as women.
Men have feelings too?!
Don't they?! Amazing how it never dawned to us until we were hit with the same question and request for the zillionth time "Do you have something like this for men too?"
How didn't we think of this before? It couldn't be more basic as it is. Humans feel emotions, and humans come in different shapes and sizes - like in the shape of a man or a woman.
With this idea in mind, creating emotion driven gift products for all humans, men and women alike, we present the new brand to you : LEDYLO.
Together with the brand we will keep on growing and changing in the years to come but we will always stay true to what we believe in.
Always honest. Always authentic. In our storytelling. In our products.
